Wang Zhanjie, deputy secretary-general of China Plastic Processing Industry Association, and Changjiang Jiacheng, director of Wangping Pipe Industry Group, served as the starting button for the China (Wangping) Plastic Museum. In 1868, John Wesley Hyatt invented Celluloid by reacting vinyl chloride with other polymers. It was first used on billiard balls. In 1872, it was prepared from polyvinyl chloride. In 1926, it was the most important. One of the early products was a golf ball, which was made in 1928 with chlorinated polyvinyl chloride for lacquer fibers. In 1940, BF Goodrich established the first commercial PVC plant in New York, and in 1941 adopted the term "Geon" to name its PVC resins and compounds. In 1951, the PVC pipe industry began in the US. In 1955, polycarbonate was synthesized by GE company. In the same year, HDPE was developed. In 1958, the American Association of Plastic Engineers (SPE) Vinyl Chloride Professional Activities Committee (VIPAC) was established in New York. In 1977, linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE) was successfully developed.
China's plastics industry started late and began in the middle and late 20th century. Over the past 30 years of reform and opening up, China's plastics industry has been developing at a high speed, the application of products has been advancing rapidly, and the market prospects are bright. However, there is still a considerable gap with foreign R&D, application and promotion, and the per capita consumption is less than half of that of foreign countries. In order to review and summarize the development history of pipeline industry at home and abroad, and draw lessons from the latest research and development achievements and market applications at home and abroad, Wangping Pipe Industry Group invested more than 5 million yuan to build China's first plastic pipe industry museum. The Museum intends to collect products, equipment, documentation, people who have made special contributions to the museum in different historical periods and the latest scientific and technological achievements, so as to promote the exchange and cooperation among industries and promote the development of China's plastic pipeline industry. At present, the planning and design of the museum and its later work are being actively carried out.
